This has already been explained on the "Definitions"
page, but I will repeat it here. "Traditional" after a saint's name means that this saint is being commemorated
on the Old Calendar, i.e., the liturgical calendar in use before Vatican II and which remains in use during any Tridentine,
i.e., Latin, Mass. "Historical" means that this saint is no longer on any liturgical calendar; this saint
was dropped after Vatican II. This does not mean that this saint did not exist and can still be commemorated privately.
Just see the list of "Other saints being commemorated this day" at the bottom of the Home Page.
The "Quotation
of the Day" is always related to the daily reading from the Mass, or is a direct quote from those readings, or is a quotation
from a saint commemorated that day.
If you click
on one of the answers to the "Question of the Week" your anonymity remains intact. I have no idea who answers
the questions.
